Don Rickles

Don Rickles...I love Don Rickles. One of the few entertainers that I was in full agreement with my parents about. Not only was Rickles a genius, but upon his death yesterday at the age of 90, the true magnitude of his influence was shown as comedian after comedian , paid tribute to the man. Jerry Seinfeld once said that Don Rickles would be on the "Mount Rushmore of comedians." Howard Stern has said that a letter Rickles sent him praising Sterns talent, is one of his prized possessions. When I was a kid, watching reruns of '60's sitcoms all day, I was amazed at how many guest shots Rickles did. Gilligans Island, Get Smart, Gomer Pyle, the Addams Family, the list goes on and on. I didn't realize at the time that he was a trained actor. Where I loved Rickles the most though, was as a guest on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. They had great chemistry together. RIP Mr. Rickles, you are truly one of a kind and will be missed...

The Sinatra story at the end of the Tonight show video clip is killer.
